(Hello, Teacher Fangtang. As this is my first time using this website and I didn’t see any requirements regarding posting format, please feel free to handle this post as you see fit.)
Regarding the “Summarize Historical Topics/New Topics” feature, I would like to propose two optimization requests:
1. Cancel (or add an option to) sending historical conversations to the model when creating a new conversation
Current Situation
When using the “New Topic” feature, omate automatically sends historical conversations to the model, which summarizes and generates a title. Although version 1.17.3 supports manual title editing, the preliminary model invocation for summarization is still inconvenient.
Optimization Request
When using the “New Topic” feature, only save the historical conversations without triggering (or allow the option to trigger) model invocation. The title can be manually entered by the user or generated by the system time as a default title (without model involvement).
Reasons for the Request
- Avoid additional costs: Model invocation may incur extra fees, increasing user costs.
- Improve operational efficiency: Reduce the waiting time for model processing, making “New Topic” switching faster.
- Avoid abnormal risks: If historical conversations contain inappropriate (NSFW) content, it may lead to empty responses or errors from the model.
2. Add a continuation feature for historical topics
Current Situation and Reasons for the Request
Currently, omate cannot continue chatting on historical topics. If you want to start a new topic but don’t want to abandon the current conversation record, you have to restart the conversation, reconfigure prompts, models, and interface settings, which increases repetitive operations.
Expected Implementation
Support directly loading historical topics back into the conversation interface to continue chatting based on the historical topic’s conversation; the current conversation interface’s record will be automatically saved as a new historical topic.
Whether or not the suggestions are adopted, thank you, Teacher Fangtang, for continuously optimizing and iterating omate! Looking forward to and appreciating your response!
